Hive Stock Images - "The Tropical Pitcher Plants"

in Stock Images3 years ago (edited)

Hello there Hiveans! Glad to see you guys again on the Hive Stock Images Community ... 😊

First of all, let me say hello to all my hive fellows on here... it's been a long time not seeing you guys in this great community 🤗 the past few weeks have been hectic weeks for me, due to work and other things that keep me busy. But finally, I'm very happy to be joining you here again to contribute in the #hivestockimages ^_^

Anyway, I've read a few comments and have noticed that Hive Stock Images are overstocked with #plant images... hmm, on the one hand, I'm happy because it shows the great enthusiasm of plant lovers to share their stock images in this community. And on the other hand, I also agree with the Hive Stock Images team that something unique and prominent is needed to be featured here... Therefore, to start this week, I would like to share some of my stock images that certainly more than others... 😊

On this beautiful day, I would like to share something very #rare, I'm not sure if any hivers have posted about this one before or not... However, this will be something interesting to explore...
This is a post about a very rare plant species that I ever found when I was on the island of Borneo...

Tropical Pitcher Plants, This plant belonging to the family of the Nepenthes Genus... It is one of the #carnivorous plants, in addition to absorbing soil nutrients through its roots (like other plants in general), they also prey on insects for additional nutrition.

As you can see, these #pitcher plants are full green, from the leaves, stems, to the #flowers. If you pay attention, the shape of this plant is like a cup with a circular part that is open at the top and has a cover on the edge. The fact is, it is through this part that this plant #traps some insects for prey. Very unique isn't it? ^_^

After I looked further, I did not smell a strong scent from this plant, but if you smell the cavity of the flower at a very close distance, maybe you will smell a bit of a strange smell. As far as I know, the scent serves to lure insects to come closer...

The pitcher plant is one of the rare and highly #protected plants in my country, therefore I really hope that this plant will continue to thrive in this Borneo #forest so that this #species does not become extinct from this beautiful earth... ^_^
