Gameweek 3 Update

in Football4 years ago

Hi All,

Firstly I would like to thank all that participated in the #EPL-ScoreChallenge AND #HIVE-FPL.

Gameweek 3 was very strange as there was loads of penalties that were awarded as poor defending continues, 3 penalties alone were given in the most entertaining game of the round - Manchester City v Leicester City. This new handball rule is starting to get under my skin, where do you expect defenders to put their hands while they are in mid flight trying to head the ball or if the ball strikes the hand when the attacker is 2cm out from the offender!

Ferggie's legacy is still alive and kicking around at Manchester, as there was 10 minutes of stoppage time in their game verse Brighton. I am not sure which loss was more shocking; Manchester City or Wolves, You guys can decide. There is only 3 teams left in the English Premier League that are still undefeated; Leicester City, Liverpool and their Merseyside neighbors, Everton.

Weekly Update - #HIVE-FPL

There was only one FPL team in our HIVE mini league that scored the most points (83) in gameweek 3, congrats to @chekohler (Boom XhakaLacaSaka)

Leader board: @chekohler (Boom XhakaLacaSaka) is leading the #HIVE-FPL competition on 230 points, closely followed by @jeanlucsr (S.V. Botopasi) on 2nd place, as they swapped position from last week and in 3rd place is @teofilex11 (Tezos FC).

Striker

Vardy-GW3Vardy scoring 17 points

Vardy, Vardy, oohhh Jamie Vardy, 2nd time in 3 game weeks he was the highest scoring striker. And still I haven't brought him in to my FPL team 😫 He scored another hat-trick against City.

3 FPL managers in our mini league had Jamey Vardy in their team. Vardy is normally a safe striker option and I normally had him in my FPL team. The reason why I haven't bought him in or any Foxes players was because of their form at the tail end of last season. I will have to consider At the moment Vardy is 75% chance to play the next match due to a hip injury.

There was another striking option that scored decent amount of points in this gameweek; Callum Robinson from West Brom (13 points) he only costs £5.5.

Midfield

GW-3-BowenBowen scoring 15 points

Wolves were hammered by West Ham (pun intended) was a shock to most of the FPL managers. Wolves were humbled by the hungry Hammers and Jarrod Bowen was in the heart of the midfield. He scored 2 goals and helped his team to keep a clean sheet. Bowen played a really good game and linked up well with Antonio. He costs £6.3, we can see his price rise if he continues to play well for West Ham.

Unfortunately Bowen is not owned by many FPL managers, so whoever owned him should consider them self fortunate.

There were a few more midfielders that scored decent amount of points in this gameweek; Hourihane from Aston Villa (14 points) costs £6.0, Mount from Chelsea (12 Points) costs £6.9, Mahrez from Manchester City (12 points) costs £8.4 and Fernandes from Manchester United (12 points) costs £10.5.

Defender

GW-3-MingsMasuaku and Mings scoring 12 points

I seen that name before, for the 2nd time this season Mings scored decent amount of points for FPL managers. He scored a goal for Aston Villa in this gameweek -costing ONLY £5.0, it's criminal that I haven't bought him in! He also helped Villa to keep another clean-sheet. Masuaku also scored a goal for West Ham as the past 4 against Wolves and kept a clean-sheet.

I am really surprised that Mings is owned by ONLY 2.8% of FPL managers, as I said before, at £5.0 its a real steal considering his points return.

There was another defender option that scored decent amount of points in this gameweek; Robertson from Liverpool (10 points) costs £7.0

Goalkeeper

GW3-leedsMeslier scoring 10 points

Meslier from Leeds scored the most FPL points for a goalkeeper in this gameweek. He had a blinder, four outstanding saves. Leeds kept their first clean-sheet of the campaign, 4 points + 1 point for the amount of saves (4) and 3 bonus points.

I am really considering using my wild card this week as there is a massive gap starting to appear between me and first place, Boom XhakaLacaSaka (64 points).

Keep in mind you ONLY get one free transfer and transfers after that will cost you 4 points.

The season is still young and a few changes to your FPL team can make a real difference.

AND the game has begun!

Also can FPL managers; Zion fc, badboy fc and OmstavanGGMU comment on this post so I can know your HIVE name.
