Okay, so you’ve decided to dump the noise.
You’ve said good riddance to the news (both the NYT and Zerohedge), stopped compulsively checking your Facebook feed and the prices on Coinmarketcap (although you still feel you hands twitching), you no longer “decompress” with HBO and Netflix or watch the clowns on the Fake News Network or Faux News.
WELL DONE!!!
But, what now?
Now the resistance begins. The Universe will test your resolve, tempting you into going back to your old ways. It's not the Universe's fault - it's just responding to the conflict in your vibration:)
This is why you need to start building a positive vision of your day and of your life.
Up until now, you were thrown about like a ship in a storm, carried emotionally wherever the people providing you with information wanted you to go.
That ends here and now. Now is the time for YOU to take control.
How? By putting yourself under the microscope.
Step one was DUMPING THE NOISE.
Step two is RE-ORIENTATION.
Determination & Clarity
I have found that when trying to replace old habits with new ones, you are likely to fail if your determination is not strong enough. Duh, right?
Well, how do you get determined?
By seeing things clearly.
We all have plenty of desires and dreams we wish we could manifest, but the aforementioned noise that we have dumped into the ash heap of history was one of the reasons we kept running in place. By actually taking stock of where we are and what we are chronically doing, we can allow ourselves to move ahead.
Do you think you are more likely to stop reading the news because a) you know it’s a waste of time or b) because you want to understand things more clearly and the news is actually worsening your understanding? FYI, researchers have found that people who read news on a weekly basis are better at predicting future events than those who read news every day. LESS REALLY IS MORE!
So, putting yourself under the microscope...HOW?
It’s easy. START JOURNALING.
Journal Your Way To A New Life
Write down your hopes, dreams, goals and desires. Write down the behavior that is keeping you from the achievement of those things. Write down the things you would like to start doing, habits you want to adopt.
Write down how you feel, what you fear and what you think your limitations are. Then question those limitations.
You can use Google Docs or Evernote, or go old school and write into a notebook (I’m a hardcore Moleskine fan).
When you take an inventory of your life as it is today, you will light a fire under your ass and the process of reinvention can begin.
Clarity, productivity, freedom and happiness wait on the other side.
