Hello and welcome to another session of MedHive onboard, as a result of our push to help create more health awareness and have a medical community The Med-Hive Onboard Project aims to bridge the gap between medical professionals and the Hive community. Our mission is to create a vibrant ecosystem where healthcare experts can share knowledge, collaborate, and thrive.
The #MedHive Onboard project aims to show them how things work on this web3.0 platform which is not as it used to be on the usual web 2.0 platforms.
To get started we will begin to educate them about basics on this platform and also show them as much as they can to be familiar with hive and the various communities that they can benefit from and also share their own experiences as well.
In our previous post we shared what Hive was and how it works but in this post will go for the to talk about the various activities that can be carried out on high and also share on how these things can be done.
NOW Let's get started
Making a Post
Making a post involves sharing content in either text format or image or even video format it entails you bringing your creativity to the platform and making others appreciate and even engage with you the aim of making a post is to draw engagement and for you to share with your friends even in the real world for them to be able to also interact with you and probably also be part of what's going on here on hive. Post can be shared using various templates and front ends such as ecency, peakd and hive.blog, you can also go on to share videos using threespeak.tv and liketu for your pictures. There is so much more you can explore.
Comments
When you comment, you are engaging with other people's creativity and also spurring them up, you can also get inspired to write something while you are doing this and yes, you can make many friends who might become followers and even supporters in this way. Comments and engagements are how communities are ran and so, the aim is not just to be mechanical but to flow with ease. Same way you would comment on a post on other medias, only this time, let it engage the writer. When you comment the owner of the post will be notified and would likely respond to your comment to continue the conversation.
Upvotes
By upvoting other people's posts you are first showing appreciation for the time and the message they passed across while you read their post. More so, based on your HivePower, you are also drawing some hive rewards to their posts and this is what is called CURATING. When you up vote, you also benefit from that's as 50% of curation rewards are shared across all who voted in their order. So it's a win win. The aim is to have a bigger Hive power to up vote and earn from that, however, even if you have a small hive power, you can still show your love for posts you love.
Reputation
When you join hove, you have a reputation which shows up on your pages, everyone starts with a 25 which then begins to grow, @med-hive is currently at 57. It is a measure of your contributions and engagement over time.
HIVE token
Your hive rewards can come in two forms, Hive and HBD. Hive is your raw form of cryptocurrency which can be traded and exchanged on the exchanges, such as binance. HBD on the other hand, tho also raw and can be traded on some exchanges too, is is a Tetherd cryptocurrency to the USD, so the HBD (hive backed dollar) is at all times equal to or almost equal to the dollar. Little shifts can happen sometimes leading to it being either greater than the dollar or slightly less than the dollar.
Powering Up
When you receive hive rewards, they usually come as Hive Power. This hive power basically gives you more power to both create, engage and and curate on the hive platform. It doesn't guarantee more earnings tho, but when you power up, it gives you the chance to earn more hive at about 13% per annum.
So to see this way as a special box where you can store your precious hive that you are not currently using as raw. Which can be used to interact and engage creatives and create on the platform. When you are ready you can also convert your powered up hive down to raw hive, this is the process called powering down and this would take 13 weeks to get your complete amount power down because you get 1/13 of the amount you set to power down every week across the 13 weeks. So for example if you want to withdraw or power down 13,000 HP, you are going to get 1000 HP into your raw hive wallet every week for 13 weeks. This is in place to make sure your HP is safe from any sudden withdrawal if your account gets hacked and also gives you good time to regain control.
Saving HBD
Hive Back dollar can also be earned from your post and when this is done it fan be saved for some good returns as well, about 15% APY is gotten and paid monthly. It's a good practice to save and get returns.
We believe we have been able to touch on some basic facts in this post. We hope to share on more in subsequent posts to help newbies understand better.
