When I was reading I got a flashback to Y2K when we had to figure out the unknowns that were likely not going to happen but needed to be stated and addressed just the same. In fact, BIS stood for Business Information System who employed me at the time. !lol
It was a time where I loved the technology possibilities but disliked the old thinkers in charge of systems. Web3 resistance and complexities will become history just like Y2K is history. And maybe AI and the bots can take care of all payments and we don't even need to think about it anymore.
