Why Should You Build An Email List?

So I am asking this question with Steemians in mind, if you are making daily blogs and vlogs on the Steem blockchain what is so great about building an email list?

Well it really comes down to this, it's a complement to what you are already doing, you most likely promote your posts and videos on other places like Twitter, Telegram and Discord, etc, and this is another way for you to do this.

But there is more to it, the people that sign up to your list do so because they want to do that, they want you to send them an email when you make your next posting, and they don't want to miss it.

This means more engagement and more upvotes for you, and you get to retain the followers you have much better, and it's easier to nurture those relationships.

Affiliate Marketing

Now by using an email list you can also promote products and services that you think they would like as an affiliate and make a commission on the sales that you generate.

You can include affiliate offers in your posts, emails and also offer a free ebook for signing up to your list, this ebook is a Lead Magnet, and you can see mine at the end of this post.

By adding affiliate marketing to your listbuilding you don't just get more followers that stay with you, but you also earn an extra income on top of the rewards that you earn on your posts.

This income will most likely not grow very fast as you start out, but if you offer things that your followers finds valuable then it will grow over time, and if you offer things that give you a residual commission then you will keep earning on the work you have already done.

So to conclude, by building a list you get more followers with better retention to your blog and vlog, and you earn an extra income on top with affiliate marketing, this is why.
