Just wondering, but I think I saw that reputation might also affect the MAIL you get. Is this based on your reputation or the sender's reputation?

It's based on your reputation, though even if you get a lower reputation, you will always get the minimum MAIL depending on your Membership. You can check the MAIL per click range inside the Upgrades page.
