Dark Melanin Moody Portraits I Captured At Sundown

in Photography5 years ago (edited)

Hey everyone!

Today I'll be sharing some portraits of my model friend Ada we took at sundown. One could refer to the time we shot this photo as the blue hour which comes after the golden hour
My friend @kodeblaccc who is an excellent photographer was with us too. These photos were the last ones we took before packing up and going home. Also, we had already taken some neat photos earlier in the day when the sun was still up.
Here are the photos:

As seen above, she tried to achieve moody poses which I think weren't bad at all.
We incorporated a scarf into her outfit and even tried to get it in frame behind her as seen on the second photo. We had to take burst shots to capture the scarf in motion.

For taking these photos, a Nikon D750 camera was used alongside a Nikon 85mm f/1.8 lens. The photos were taken with just the natural light available.
For editing, they were colourgraded on my smartphone on the Adobe Lightroom Mobile app which gets the job done pretty easily.
I decided to retain the cool temperature of the photo thereby prioritising the blues and giving the photos a "moody" feel.
Also, I made sure the skin tones were retained no matter what.

Thanks for reading my post!
I'd love to know what you think about these photos.
