The Orchid, National Flower of Venezuela
The orchid is considered the national flower of Venezuela. It is one of the natural symbols that identify our country, along with the Araguaney which is the National Tree of yellow flowers and the Turpial, small National Bird of yellow with black, the 3 represent a natural beauty that adorns the fauna and flora of this beautiful country.
The orchid has a scientific name that is known as Cattaleya, in Venezuela there are about 1500 species or types of orchids, it is a really beautiful flower. Venezuela has the privilege of being one of the countries with the highest number of known species.
The orchid represents in its different species, the subtlety, the femininity, the beauty, I particularly know this type of orchid that is of a soft violet color that intensifies in a violet a little bit darker in its delicate edges.
I have the privilege of having this beautiful flower in the garden of my house and every time it blooms sincerely is a spectacle, it is a spectacle to admire this natural beauty, the orchid was declared national flower a few years ago, on May 23, 1951, that is why it is said
that it is the flower of May. The orchid is considered a parasitic plant, because it feeds and nourishes from other plants.
