A Frosty Stroll; The Sun; A Rainbow and a Robin

in Photography8 days ago

Jack Frost visited our village during the night, leaving a fresh layer of frost in the morning, which created a nice winter landscape. Once you start walking, you soon warm up, though.

One half of the village lido was frozen, but at the other end, the sun had thawed it out. Our local council has decided to take over the running of the lido instead of the angling club. There are too many cygnets getting killed by swallowing discarded fish hooks so it is just going to be run as a nature reserve, which is a good thing.

The hedges lining the footpaths were also covered with frost. Although cold temperatures provided a lovely crispy sight, the warmth from the sun soon began to melt away any remaining frost; it was clear that it wouldn’t last for long. On this particular winter day, there was a lovely blue sky.

I saw a little robin foraging for food among the leaves on the ground. I always carry birdseed in my pocket, so I threw some on the ground. Within seconds, it was quickly eaten up.

In typical British style, weather can change quickly; after a brief shower, a lovely rainbow appeared over the village pond, and the sun appeared once again.

Frosty leaves are one of my favorite things to see and touch. Unfortunately, where I live, we don't have such frosty weather. I miss my previous life...🤣... Lovely photographs...

Thank you. Of course you miss your previous life, who wouldn't? Although, the cold weather does put me off doing things, such as painting my kitchen. Maybe, tomorrow. 🙃

There is always tomorrow, so no worries. We can always take time and do things tomorrow...🤣

The trouble is, there are too many tomorrows with me!

That’s a wonderful walk ending with a rainbow. Good thing that you have bird seeds with you! Lucky birds! It’s so difficult to find insects in winter.
The frost looked like diamond dust in shining light.
Here in the north, there’s frost for four days. Tourists flocked to see the frost on the mountain causing traffic jam!

Oh, it must be lovely to see frost on the mountain.

Hundreds of people appearing on the mountains during the same weekend!
