Walking around my village ponds today, the footpath was full of fallen leaves. Wet leaves are lethal underfoot. They are very slippy, so I had to tread carefully as I could see myself careering into the pond!
There were a lot of leaves on the surface of the water as well. The coot was surrounded by them.
We have some resident swans on one of the ponds. They fly off now and again but always return at some point. They have been together for a few years but sadly have never managed to have cygnets. Every year, we all cross our fingers it might happen, but no babies yet.
There was a lovely rainbow over the pond. We'd had a shower in the morning but it was beginning to brighten up.
There was a little grey wagtail having a paddle in the puddle. They are prettier than their name suggests. I don't see many of them around here. It's always nice to see something different.
My fungi app is telling me this is ivory funnel but I don't know if it is correct or not.
I actually managed to get home without getting wet. Normally, it waits for me to get half way around my walk before the heavens open and there's no shelter. The gods were shining on me today.
Wow! Very nice pond and beautiful day! Great for a quiet walk!
Def stunning place to have your morning walk with to go coffee in the hand
Yes, I could have taken one with me. 🙂
