Lomtevo is a village in Vologda district of Vologda region, a part of Staroselsky rural settlement. The village is located at the confluence of the Runas River with Toshnya. Vologda Regional center is 48 km away. The population is about one hundred people.
Everything is as usual: studying the map from the satellite, finding several small structures located in a row on it, going to the place.
For some reason, when you look at the map, one picture is drawn in your head and the place is presented in its own way.
But when you come and see everything in person, it never corresponds to what you expected to see.
Lomtevo stands at a height difference, more precisely, on the slope of a hill.
There was a sunset all night, which then turned into dawn.
A cluster of dugouts is located next to apartment buildings, but you can also find single ones in a variety of places.
At first, it was uncomfortable for me to walk right in front of the windows of an apartment building with a tripod and take pictures of the cellars.
So I decided to go through the field around the village and come in from the other side.
In the evenings, all the grass is covered in dew, so my feet became damp almost as soon as I came into contact with the grass.
There are many vegetable storages here, they all have triangular roofs, stand at a height difference and move away from the residential sector up the slope, hiding in the shallow woods.
Almost all are used for their intended purpose to this day.
But something didn't add up...
I reopened the map, looked at it more closely and saw the same row of sheds, but there are two of them here.
Yes, satellite maps in many places, especially in villages, are quite old and rarely updated.
It turns out that the second row of dugouts was put here recently! For the first time, I captured new dugouts!
And I was also haunted by a place near the forest nearby. There, on various maps, some incomprehensible objects appeared, close in size to vegetable storages.
I decided to sneak in...I tried from one place through the vegetable gardens – it didn't work out.
I tried to pass from the other side. I went out into the thicket of willow-tea mixed with nettles and willow shoots. I realized that there was nothing there, but, following my principle, I did not go back.
Oh, and I was tormented, making my way along the power line through the wilds two heads taller than me!
It's night, silence, and only the crunching of their bushes can be heard behind the vegetable gardens. No matter how they thought it was a bear, because in such places their exits to people have become more frequent.
But I was able to get out! It's good that I always have spare dry clothes – I was wet from the waist up...
