For me, reportage photography is still a separate world, a different universe, different from other genres of photography. But every year this world gets closer to all the other genre worlds, merging with them or sometimes mixing with them.
The fact is that not all photos can be published.
And not all the pictures will be interesting.
And if I start showing everything mixed up with landscapes and street art, then I'll just overwhelm the viewer with content.
Although my plan still includes showing a reportage photo on social media.
I have already started the slow and careful process of embedding reportage images in other thematic posts.
This process will be long and gradual, but at the end I will let the audience know that I am now a reporter.
A reporter, a photojournalist is the most versatile and most professional photographer in every sense.
A reporter needs to be able to make a selection of pictures telling about the event, you need to be able to make a good portrait, landscape, macro, close-up, night views.
Reportage photography includes all genres...although it doesn't seem to be a genre itself.
After all, it is impossible to determine from a picture whether it is a reportage or not, although sometimes it is possible.
There may even be graphics and minimalism in reportage photography.
And most importantly, you can't edit pictures too much, in some cases you can't even edit them at all.
You cannot distort reality by processing it.
This means that the light and color will be as they really were.
And this means that the reporter needs to shoot in such a way that it is immediately good without processing.
Therefore, I think that a reportage photographer is the coolest photographer. And reportage photography is the highest degree of knowledge of photographic art.
