Street photography in St. Petersburg

In megacities there is a large concentration of street photographers – it is logical, because where there are most people and buildings, there are more plots!
But for street photography in the cultural capital, you need to take into account the time of day, since in the evening more than half of the streets are already in the shade.

The best thing you can think of for a street is people and a pile of different objects.

It will be just an inexhaustible layer of plots!

But does a creative person need limitless potential?

It seems to me that any real creative person should be limited.

Only when the creator has limits, then he tries to go beyond them.

Otherwise, you will simply get tired of the inexhaustible abundance.

And you will begin to limit yourself, to protect yourself with frames.

So, it seems to me, different genres of photography have appeared.

And I, being within the framework, try to go beyond them, that is, to become outside the genre.

I have been thinking about these topics for years and found that different genres have different frequency rhythms.

There should be a rhythm where there is no genre, where there is only a state. I've been going to this for a very long time.

And it feels like watching my old photos, I'm always in a state where I just shoot something that steals attention.

Even if I once thought that I was squeezed into a narrow framework, then all the same, the pictures are full of states.

Even if they are not of artistic or historical value, for me they contain a memory code.

Well, when there is an artistic touch, then others still like it.

And yet: a street on a wide-angle lens is more soulful than a street on a telephoto lens...

Сенная площадь - богатый район (в смысле возможных фото трофеев, я имею в виду). Опять приезжали на форум?

да, снова форум)

I really love the second picture! But I would tilt down a bit more, so the focus is more on the shadows on the ground

What did you see in it, if I may ask? Intresting to hear.

I see all individuele shadows ! They are like in a circle!

I mean half a circle, all around the woman in the middle

Ah, indeed. Seems like a coincidence, not planned or intended by the cameraman. Thanks for reply, and a !BEER 🍻
