Gained Trust
When fear is the initial response, it's time to slow down. With a patient heart and mind, I approached slowly (as I do with all wonderful creatures). This one went from wanting to scurry from one hiding place to another to smiling for the camera and even staying put for another hour or so.

Nice smile. Looks like a fence lizard?
I was hoping someone may know. You can't see it here, but it has a curled tail. I believe it's a northern curly-tailed lizard. Native to the Bahamas but introduced to Florida in the 1940's to combat sugar cane pests.
