Those old traditions that sophisticated historians consider to be gossip insist that, somewhere along this wonderful Asturian coast of Carabias, those monks with spurs, as Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer liked to say when he referred to the Templars, had, around the 13th century, approximately, a monastery, of which not even a miserable stone has survived for centuries.
I am not sure, on the other hand, that it was precisely here, in this splendid haven where the waves of the Cantabrian Sea come to rest from their impetuous bravery, known as the Arenal de Moris or in its vicinity, where such a circumstance occurred, if it really ever existed and it did not happen with it the same as with the famous southern plantation of Tara, which the wind also blew away.
But sometimes, what is frustrating on one hand, usually has an unexpected reward on the other, taking you to interesting and certainly very attractive places, where you can enjoy superb nature on a magnificent Cantabrian beach, not as rugged and invaded by rocks and barnacles, as many others on this fragmented coast.
Insisten, esas viejas tradiciones que los sofisticados historiadores consideran como malas lenguas, que, en algún punto de esta maravillosa costa asturiana de Carabias, esos monjes con espuelas, como le complacía decir a Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer cuando se refería a los templarios, tuvieron, allá por el siglo XIII, aproximadamente, un monasterio, del que hace siglos que no sobrevive ni siquiera una miserable piedra.
Tampoco estoy seguro, por otra parte, de que fuera precisamente aquí, en este espléndido remanso donde vienen a descansar de su impetuosa bravura las olas del Cantábrico, conocido como el Arenal de Moris o en sus proximidades, donde se diera, precisamente, tal circunstancia, si es que realmente alguna vez lo hubo y no sucedió con él lo mismo que con la famosa plantación sureña de Tara, que también el viento se lo llevó.
Pero, en ocasiones, lo que resulta frustraste por un lado, suele tener una inesperada recompensa por otro, llevándote a conocer lugares interesantes y desde luego, muy atractivos, donde disfrutar de una naturaleza soberbia en una magnífica playa del Cantábrico, no tan abrupta e invadida por la peña y el percebe, como muchas otras de esta fragmentada costa.
