They say that in the surroundings of this legendary town, where Almanzor lost his good luck, his ‘baraka’ or ‘atambor’ and where Orson Welles reached the laurels of Parnassus playing the Shakespearean role of the old and libertine Fallstagg, there were enough hermitages to illustrate any celestial constellation on earth, a detail, in a certain way, similar to what happens in France with the cathedrals dedicated to the figure of Our Lady, which, excuse the redundancy, imitate, on the terrestrial plane, the constellation of Virgo or the Virgin.
Hardly anything remains of them, because the wind, before Clark Gable's consecration in the cinema, took them away, except in some isolated case, in which, feeling compassionate, like the Sphinx with Oedipus, he left to posterity the challenge of guessing the riddle of how it must have been, in those medieval times, apart from humble and undoubtedly associated with a Sacred Architecture, which still used in design the language of God as a vehicle of expression: Geometry.
In a world, the current one, subordinated to the dictatorship of the Algorithm, there is little room left to swim against the current and rebel in favor of speculation, but as a ‘sinner of the prairie’, like that brilliant Fistro, who will currently be occupying a star in the vicinity of that other one that houses the restless soul of Van Gogh, I want to imagine this ruin, beautiful and attractive, like the seductive little house made of caramel and chocolate from the famous story of the Grinn Brothers, completely freed from the weeds that invade it, with its immaculate roof of bloody clay contrasting with the splendid golden color of the ripe wheat of the surrounding fields and the delicate sound of the bells, ringing with harmonious insistence, who knows, maybe, deep down, to scare away the same witches that came to Macbeth's path, to predict a bittersweet destiny for him.
