Some old people from the place, few, in fact, because time, with its imperturbable path also brings with it an imperturbable movement of souls, still remember with ill-contained pride, those happy times of the past twentieth century, when the brilliant American actor and director, Orson Welles, chose this medieval Castilian town as the perfect setting to immortalize on celluloid one of the most charismatic works of that playwright, perhaps pampered too much by the Muse, who was William Shakespeare.
On the outskirts of the truncated walls, which, in ancient times, surrounded the town, offering its inhabitants the protection of the stone, this old Romanesque hermitage, which, curiously, responds to the deserved name of Solitude, also remembers that in its chiaroscuro interior, knights and villains reinterpreted the same scripts as many others, who, in historical and medieval times, commended their souls to God, before entering into combat.
Algunos viejos del lugar, pocos, en realidad, pues el tiempo, con su impertérrito camino lleva también con él un impertérrito trasiego de almas, todavía recuerdan con orgullo mal contenido, aquellos felices tiempos del pasado siglo XX, en los que el genial actor y director norteamericano, Orson Welles, eligió este pueblo medieval castellano como escenario perfecto para inmortalizar en el celuloide una de las obras más carismáticas de aquel dramaturgo, mimado quizás en exceso por la Musa, que fue William Shakespeare.
Extrarradio de las desmochadas murallas, que, antiguamente, circundaban el pueblo, ofreciendo a sus habitantes la protección de la piedra, esta vieja ermita románica, que, curiosamente, responde al merecido nombre de la Soledad, recuerda, también, que en sus claroscuros interiores, caballeros y villanos volvieron a interpretar los mismos guiones que muchos otros, que, en tiempos históricos y medievales, encomendaban sus almas a Dios, antes de entrar en combate.
