How’s it going, Hive? Good here. Thanks for asking! It’s the last day visiting friends and family here on the east coast. Today I made my way to @joshbalz’s place to shoot another set of oddities for The Strange & Unusual NFT set on WAX. It was a @facingsofficial release last year, but we have plans to expand the collection with @mirrorpool handling all of the art. Tomorrow morning, we’ll be getting on the road for the 20+ hour drive […including charging] to Minneapolis. This has been such a relaxing trip. For once, an actual vacation. Grateful.
I have some new photography to share. Another client from the event I co-hosted with Cervena Fox. Her name is Tina and she took a commanding presence in front of the camera as soon as her session began. It was clear she had done a lot of professional modeling prior to this event, which is always humbling. I loved that she had a shaved head and the make-up choice she and the artist came to was straight up post-apocalyptic. Fitting for the time and age we’re living in, so may has well make it fashion. We set up candles, skulls and vintage lamps, the got started.
XTina and Cervena were friends before this evening, so we shot a few frames of them both together. Having more experience than most of the models that booked during the event, I was able to try some unique poses and concepts within the 30 minutes we had to work together. It was a great collaboration and being one of the final shoots of the night, was extremely satisfying to know we ended the event so strong. Reviewing these images tonight, I would say this was my favorite shoot of the workshop. I hope I have an opportunity to shoot with her again.
I’m going to have to switch gears after a week of coffee shop time, illustration, photo editing and great creativity. The kind that you wish you could just trap in a bottle and never let go. The two day drive home is going to be rough and as soon as I’m there, I’ll have to start focusing on some household projects, @mirrorpool and @neverwel work with @swarddraws, and what the EOSIO zine, Immutable Realms is going to look like. That’ll require some brainstorming sessions with @lovejoy and @mada. Looking forward to seeing them both.
Wow, sounds amazing! It's been a long time since I've experienced one of those -- that is, a non work-cation. Great photos! I love the lighting and decor—very elegant.
@katiecat1111, thank you! Yeah. I'm coming around to understanding how much I've deprived myself of the chance to recover and enjoy myself. I'm going to be working on that going forward. Thanks for the compliment on the work. This was a really fun shoot.
