The path to the top is usually not covered with roses, which is probably more of a blessing than a curse, especially if you are walking barefoot. If you really want to get to the top, you have to make do with very little, and if there are already steps build in front of you, you should consider this a real luxury. For someone has definitely been up there before you and has gone to the trouble of making the way there less difficult for all the latecomers.
You should therefore have a little gratitude to spare and not constantly complain when you run out of breath. As long as you still manage to grumble and complain, things can't really be that bad for you. It's better to turn the power you have left over from complaining into positive energy that will help you get through the rest of the journey and perhaps even support one or two fellow travellers who are on the road with you suffering and who have the same goal in mind.
At the latest when you are halfway through and the end of the effort is in sight, the goal ahead of you should be motivation enough to complete the rest of the journey. Even if you don't always have a bold smile on your face, you may finally be able to see the positive side of the project you have embarked on. If you give it a little thought, it shouldn't be that difficult.
And when you reach the top, you can take a deep breath. A little joy and pride are also welcome and don't have to be concealed. Although the path is sometimes the actual destination of the journey, we are usually quite happy to arrive somewhere at some point.
Looking back is also allowed, and usually comes naturally. You may not clearly remember the place from where you once started, but you should definitely not forget it. After all, for most of us this is not the end of our journey; we often go much further, possibly to regions that we cannot even imagine at this very moment. But you don't have to think about that just yet, first of all it is advisable to realize what you have accomplished and to enjoy the moment.
And for others, it's simply a case of going back down again, especially if the air up here has become too thin and they want to take it a bit easier again. That's why there's no shame in going back the way you came and descending from the summit you've just climbed. Any potential schadenfreude should easily roll off you, as you can always be sure that you have reached the top and made it to your destination. Many of those who are now speaking out and pointing the finger have already given up along the way and others don't even dare to start.
Once again, it all comes down to the right perception, which, as usual, is in the eye of the beholder. This time you were not just an onlooker, but the main actor and actively involved in the action. It should therefore be easy to correctly assess and evaluate the situation. And you should quickly realize that there is no reason for you to sneak away with your head down. On the contrary, your shoulders should be straight and your head should at least be looking straight ahead, if not upwards again.
In due course, you will set yourself a next goal, which you will tackle and achieve as well,a s long as you keep the right attitude. It is possible that what is described here will happen again, but there is no reason to be afraid or worried. After all, if you look back and think about it carefully, you had a lot of fun and why shouldn't it happen the next time too? And you'd like to enjoy that feeling you basked in up there again. After all, it was really good for you....
