October is a good time to visit the country. Which are are you planning to visit? Since you have friend and family there I am sure they will take you to a variety of places, and you might be able to experience Japan from a different side that most other foreign tourist. Anyways, that sound like a great plan to celebrate your 40th birthday!!

I plan to go to city part, but yes my friend told me just let them know they will meet me there and bring me around the nice places. Yes its my really wish to celebrate birthday to explore the one of the beautiful Asian country that I really love it.
Cities are great but the countryside as well. Hopefully you can explore both of them！
That's my plan to enjoy city and countryside part, I will going to enjoy both part of the country to fulfill my long wish to visit, if I really make it this october I will make sure that I will explore the country and the foods.
