RE: A Beautiful Boulder Sunday Day

Found this in a 1993 NYT article. "AS the story goes, there once was an Indian medicine man named Joe Pye who used concoctions from a wild plant found growing in the nearby woods to cure typhoid fever. His brew is said to have halted an epidemic that raged in Colonial Massachusetts. Hence this local plant became forever known as joe-pye weed." 😁
The kayakers were rescued after 3 emergency responders ran 2 1/2 miles through the woods to reach them.

Wow...!
Thank You for researching. Amazing information.
I can certainly now understand now how it got it's name...!
I wonder what herbal remedy Joe Pye would have come up with for the Coronavirus.
So glad to know the Kayakers are alright. It could have been a tragic outcome.

There is probably an herbal remedy out there, but we have chosen to trust man-made synthetic drugs that are created in labs rather than researching what nature provides.

The kayakers were out of state tourists who must not have realized that conditions on the river were different this year.
