They tried to recover the bodies but it was impossible due to the weather conditions. The welded parts of the ship where the bodies are and it's considered as a sea grave.
I won't think of all the stuff that's laying on the bottom of the sea. If they would recover all and pile it up, must be a gigantic heap!

It was a bit controversial. Normally Muslims prefer a burial, and sea burial is permissible when there is no other option. That's the reason that parts are welded, to not disturb the bodies.
