Which platform is your go to for listening to music? (Official Hive Poll)

OK, so I posted a couple of days ago some results from a couple of polls I did across Twitter and Facebook about which platforms people use to listen to music and seemed a lot of you added your thoughts as well - so thanks for that!
So I thought, let's make it official by creating a dpoll that I'll add in to the results post once the poll closes!
The question is exactly the same as it was for everyone else to keep the variable consistent, if you don't see your option, select "other" and let me know in the comments.
Feel free to write additional to your choices as well and let's get the discussion going!

I use only YouTube. Among the other online music platforms, I have only heard their names, but never used them. Others I have never heard before.

Yeah despite all its strong measures on censorship and striking channels (I have had my own YT channel struck for uploading my OWN music before that was released on labels), there is a lot of music there that you can't find anywhere else, plus it has what, a billion users?
Have found a few gems on YouTube that weren't on Spotify
While I am aware of YouTube's censorship and strikes, it does not directly affect me because I do not upload any video there. I just watch videos and listen to music.
I still hope that their mostly baseless censorship and oftentimes inaccurate copyright strikes stop.
Yeah it's a great site if you just watch or look for music for sure... and cat videos!
Once I went through the loopholes and convinced them that I was the original musician they stopped coming for me, which was a relief!

Mixcloud is under rated I think, great place for radio shows, podcasts and DJ mixes!
I used to listen to Soundcloud, but recently became more interested in Mixcloud.

Yeah Spotify paid some good money to get Joe Rogan's exclusivity on their platform! Think that will bring in a lot more users for them!

Ah, a Pandora user! I've only come across that site by doing these polls - got any information about the site? I don't know anything about it
I like Pandora. The app works much better than Spotify on my Android phone. It's also one of the cheapest music subscriptions at only $5 a month for no ads, unlimited skips, and other premium features that aren't available on the free version. I really like the 'shuffle stations' option, which plays tracks similar to whichever stations you have 'liked' or 'favorited'
I just let it play on shuffle while driving. I like that there's a decent amount more variety compared to similar apps.
Thanks for the info, seems I've missed a trick there with Pandora although I'm not currently paying for any subscription services at the moment. Used to have Soundcloud Pro but have stopped using it really since distributing music on to Spotify (and all the other music sites out there that it posts to... including Pandora I think... 🤔
Yeah letting it play in the background with minimal effort, especially while driving is great. Sadly, only Spotify works in my car with Android Auto so I'm a bit knackered on that front!
Spotify - with large amounts of guilt that I'm ripping off artists every time I listen.

Yeah Spotify is a bit of a tough one because I use it a lot to listen to music and find tracks that I can buy for my shows but as a musician, I know it doesn't really pay anything which is why I looked for alternatives like the crypto sites such as Hive. Emanate is potentially a crypto version of Spotify but there have been a couple of projects that have failed or not well publicised/turned in to bedroom hobbies such as musicoin, choon, inmusik...

I'd normally go with YT but this is the major platform used while I use Spotify and Soundcloud too from time to time :)

Yeah YouTube does have a bigger selection of music from all kinds of eras I think but Spotify is good to leave on in the background whilst doing other things and finding related music.
I may have to start using YouTube a bit more for my own music!

Interesting that you use all 3 Hive dapps to listen to music - is there a wide selection of music to listen to or how big is the user base on these do you know?
The userbase is very small and the same can be said about the variety. I have mainly checked them out because they are blockchain DAPPs.
Hmm, I thought that might be the case - think the dapps need to consider their target audience and who they WANT to be consuming content on their apps - although content is needed first I guess!

Mostly Pandora but sometimes Amazon and YouTube.

Well, Pandora's box is full of surprises (I guess that's never been said before right?!) - what is Pandora actually? I only know the distributor we use posts our music there but have no idea what it is!
Not heard of thecurrent either, will have a look and see what's going on there!
