Thanks for checking out my entry this week, which I have to say is very close to my heart: The Goddess is an Open Flower by Noa
I would like to share the story of how the Goddess energy became an important part of my life... It all started when I was going through hardships in a long standing relationship I was in twenty years ago. I was studying to become a youth worker and my favorite subject, art therapy was being taught by an amazing woman who also worked as a social worker in prison and in her spare time ran women's circles, that she invited me to: Tara Dance Circles.
These circles are where I truly started finding myself, honouring my femininity, understanding the power of the Goddess which, in my mind, is an energy that both men and women can embrace when we come into balance.
Tara represents the feminin side of Buddism and is known amongst many of her attributes as the protector of the animals of the forest, Green Tara. Noa refers to green tara in this song: 'oh holy mother of heavenly skies, green goddess of gardens of paradise'.
We danced in a spiral and one of the the dances was called the 21 praises of Tara, in which Felicity elected each praise to correspond to each dancer.
I feel that the praise she allocated to me has stuck with me til this day: 'destroyer of negative thoughts and harmful emotions'. What I loved about my praise, is its challenging aspect - I truly love challenges - and the fact that the girl who followed me was 'safe refuge'. You can't have a safe refuge without destroying negative thoughts and emotions first. If we don't recognise what is no longer needed or what isn't ours, or what isn't a part of our authentic self, then we can't grow, transform, elevate our state of awareness.
Long live all Goddesses within and around us, whether or not we see her, acknowlege her presence.

Gracias por ver mi entrada de esta semana, tengo que decir que está muy cerca de mi corazón: La Diosa es una Flor Abierta por Noa.
Me gustaría compartir la historia de cómo la energía de la Diosa se convirtió en una parte importante de mi vida... Todo empezó cuando estaba pasando por dificultades en una relación duradera que tuve hace veinte años. Yo estaba estudiando para convertirme en Educadora Especializada y mi clase favorita, arte terapia estaba siendo enseñado por una mujer increíble que también trabajó como trabajadora social en la cárcel y en su tiempo libre corrió círculos de mujeres, donde me invitó a participar: Círculos de Danza de Tara.
En estos círculos empecé realmente a encontrarme a mí misma, a honrar mi feminidad, a comprender el poder de la Diosa que, en mi mente, es una energía que tanto hombres como mujeres podemos abrazar cuando entramos en equilibrio.
Tara representa el lado femenino del budismo y es conocida entre muchos de sus atributos como la protectora de los animales del bosque, Tara Verde. Noa se refiere a Tara verde en esta canción: «oh santa madre de los cielos celestiales, diosa verde de los jardines del paraíso».
Bailamos en espiral y una de las danzas se llamaba las 21 alabanzas de Tara, en la que Felicity eligió cada alabanza para que correspondiera a cada bailarína.
Creo que el elogio que me dedicó se me ha quedado grabado hasta hoy: «destructora de pensamientos negativos y emociones dañinas». Lo que me encantó de mi elogio es su aspecto desafiante -me encantan los desafíos- y el hecho de que la chica que me seguía era «refugio seguro». No se puede tener un refugio seguro sin destruir primero los pensamientos y las emociones negativas. Si no reconocemos lo que ya no nos sirve o lo que no es nuestro, o lo que no forma parte de nuestro auténtico yo, entonces no podemos crecer, transformarnos, elevar nuestro estado de conciencia.
Larga vida a todas las Diosas dentro y alrededor de nosotr@s, que la veamos o reconozcamos su presencia, o no.
