Another 120 film roll full of portraits - Analog (film) photography

"Tell your story..."
This (above) line is always "helping" me when i start writing for the next post here on Ecency. It's like an invitation to some unexpected and not-planned adventure. It's very easy to write "Tell your story...", but the writing itself requires additional effort. And now i'm sounds too dramatic.

Today i pushed myself to stop all my activity and to scan the roll of the medium format film, which i developed two weeks ago. It took around 4 month to finish this roll - to fill it with portraits of my friends, strangers and my family members.

And all the time, when i scan my portraits works, i put my attention, that many of the works I could have done it better, more interesting and more original, but in many cases something prevented me from doing this.

First of all, i always feel a little bit nervous due to the fact that i have the only only one click-frame per person, at least one per roll-session. This time i have one person - my good friend Hanna from US, California, who visited my country with the short two weeks visit and i wanted to take a portrait of her with her book in hands. And additional one - with her film camera

And secondly... I don''t really have this "secondly" reason. Just the first one - the exciting moment of the agreement for a portrait.

I sell the prints of my Art, and many of my works is available in my FAA online store : Framed prints, Metal prints, Posters, Canvas prints and other types of finishing.

I waited for that second place. hahaha. But you did a great job on your work. I imagine that making a portrait is quite a challenge, it doesn't only mean that you are good with your work, but that the other is satisfied with the image. Greetings and have a nice weekend, Victor.

thank you very much Nancy !
the next roll is already loaded. I started looking for the portrait victims :-)))))

Excellent portrait work. 📷
Interesting idea and challenge. 👏

thank you my friend !

So the rule is one shot per portrait? :) I never shot medium format film, but i know the rolls are not cheap :)

yes Bil. exactly the rule. It maintains the discipline. Film is not cheap, around $10 per roll of this ilford HP5 plus home developing process, which is way cheaper then to send it to lab. The prices is not higher than price of film 135, but finally we have less frames.
Medium format is amazing. i shot 6x6 with other cameras and 6x45 with this Fuji
thank you for taking a look.
