Every day is a new day and I am grateful to be alive. I haven't posted much these past few weeks because I have been spending a lot of time on my PC with classes being online. I have been doing many discussion forums for my classes which has left me burnt out with typing so I haven't created anything I'd like to post. However, I decided to set aside some time to create a post to show my gratitude for a very special person here on the Hive blockchain. This person has been a major influence in my life since we met, and I'd like to take a moment to let them know how I feel and to give my thanks.
So, without further ado...
Dear @riverflows,
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Our chief want is someone who will inspire us to be what we know we could be.” I cannot think of truer words that describe you as how I see you as the leader of @NaturalMedicine. I know you don't like to be called the leader, and that you prefer to pretend that you aren't the leader because you're modesty refuses to let you forget about how much of a community effort things are. But lets be real - our community would not be where it is without you. Frankly, I wouldn't be where I am without you. Your friendship has been nothing short of inspirational. Your leadership has brought people together from across the world to work in unison towards a common goal of creating wellness and promoting health through natural means.
While you may be a little bit unsure of which decision to make at times (the good ole' air sign in ya ;) ), you always think of what is best for the community. Never once in our interactions have I seen you act out in a selfish or egoic manner. You are extremely intelligent and think very deeply about as many angles involved with making a decision before even bringing it to the community. You know what you want, but you also want to make sure that even the little fish feel supported.
You've always been there for me any time that I've needed a friend. Whether it be to give me advice, or to hold space for me to vent about whatever frustrations I had, or to hear the joys I've experienced and want to share, you've always made me feel cared for and respected. You've never hesitated to tell me to check my thinking when I'm out of line. I find this last trait to be so important because echo chambers are of no use to anyone. Thank you for your honesty in everything you say to me. There are countless times that you've been a stable support for me to voice my concerns or pain when I'm losing grip of the edge which I have always dangerously teetered upon. You are truly an amazing person and a fabulous friend. You also know that dealing with emotions gets me in a weird way and have never made me feel weird for going cold and being all sciencey-rational/logical-brained. "How are you feeling today?" > (no response). "What makes carbon the ideal molecule for the backbone of carbon based life?" > "Well, you see here...[insert endless diatribe on organic chemistry]."
But for real, thank you for all that you have done for myself, for each individual in the community, and for the community itself. Where else would I have been able to sit with people from Cananda, the Netherlands, Venezula, and other countries, while listening to shamanic music live held especially for us? The connections that you have brought together are real, they are strong, and the people truly care about one another and the project that we have all built with you at the helm.
This is the part where I end things. I don't know how to end this because I feel like I'm starting to get emotional. ;) You are absolutely one of the best people one the blockchain, whether or not I've met them all - you're just that damn amazing. I look forward to always being your friend and eventually making my way out to Oz to go and see the wizard You. Keep up the amazing work, let's bring LOTUS from the mud to the top of the pond! ❤️
