Very interesting! I've never seen how raki is made.
I'm in Montenegro right now and we have the impression that almost every family produces their own raki, or at least one of their neighbors (who usually is also a distant part of the family).
We tried a few, because it is the common drink they offer to guests. And it tastes quite different every time, everyone has his own recipe.
And we found out (the hard way) that you should never empty your glass completely, unless you want your host refilling it again immediately ^^
