Question #1

INTRODUCTION (3).png

Minimalism

I am a minimalist by becoming a minimalist I can say that I am contributing very little damage to the environment than say a non-minimalist. You see I always try to repair my damaged electronics and try to fix it before I login to an e-commerce website to buy a new one.

Blogging Tips LinkedIn Post Header.png

I had to repair this 3 times and it still works, Saves money and planet. Also, I try to follow the 3 Rs whenever I can.

Question #2

INTRODUCTION (1).png

My message to the world is that we should come to our senses and accept the fact that we could potentially make life on this blue planet really hard or even impossible in the distant future. It is way past time to have acted but we must begin somewhere right, So take responsibilities and start acting to make this planet better and help the future generations thrive.

Question #3

These are some of my tips and steps that you guys could implement to help care more for our planet.

  • Take the time to understand how the planet functions and appreciate it.
  • Help others make wiser decisions, like helping them choose environmentally friendly products.
  • Try to follow the 3Rs.
  • Move to cleaner energy sources.

Question #4

INTRODUCTION (4).png

Sarpa kavu (Abode Of Snakes)

Sarpa Kavu is a piece of land here in Kerala that is preserved as it is for hundreds of years usually by royal families and temples. You will find snakes as deities there and people often respect the sight of a snake there rather than trying to kill it. They are considered as a place of worship and the myth around Sarpa Kavu restricted people from damaging the divine lands. This helped create a separate ecosystem and some even survive to this day even if there is a city around it. Thus traditions like these help protect our environment and help keep it pure. Here is the Wikipedia link to know more about Sarpa Kavu. If you guys like a video about Sarpa Kavu I recommend this one

Vishu

We recently celebrated Vishu which is yet another ritual here in Kerala where we celebrate the earth's contributions like helping us grow vegetables and fruits, appreciate the beauty of flowers, and so on. Vishu also marks the first day of Malayalam Callender thus we are beginning a new year by appreciating our beloved planet.

This is a typical Vishu Kani Source

On Vishu day, our parents come and wake us very early in the morning and close our eyes with their hands, and helps us walk to where the Vishu Kani is and remove their hands to reveal the Vishu Kani. You guys can see that Vishu Kani consists of vegetable fruits and the Kani konna (Indian laburnum) and we pray by looking at this and be thankful for our planet. Learn more about Vishu Here

Question #5

INTRODUCTION (5).png

I am from Kerala, India and I have to say that I am not satisfied with my government. Yes, laws do exist but we can often see that these laws are just laws as I feel like our Government is doing very little to enforce these laws. One of the recent laws Called the EIA draft 2020 simply gave private companies great power to set up huge factories and mining grounds without even hosting a public hearing, Read more about EIA here. Delhi the capital of India is a city with one of the least air quality in the entire world, by saying that I hope that our Government increases its efforts to help protect our planet.

Conclusion

I would like to thank @pavanjr and @holisticmom for making this contest and helping me by providing these questions. So I hope you guys understood that we must appreciate and be grateful to our precious planet. Thank you for reading and I hope you guys gained something new ☮️

What a lovely post @arunbiju969, I agree a minimalist lifestyle certainly helps stop further pollution, so many people are too quick to throw things away when they can be repaired. Kudos to you for fixing your things when they are broken.

So take responsibilities and start acting to make this planet better and help the future generations thrive.

Your message here is such an important one, We do need to take responsibility.

How beautiful that the Sarpa kavu has been preserved in this way for many years. I don't know much about the culture in Kerala so thank you for sharing these wonderful customs. You seem to be very environmentally conscious in a very natural way. That is a very beautiful thing.

What a lovely post, very well formatted and lovely photos too.
