Already a year ago my husband and I try to grow lettuce using a hydroponic system. Initially we tried to plant it in the ground, but it turns out very hard and managed with the use of a hydroponic system.
I planted lettuce with a hydroponic system with the axis and uses a box of styrofoam former we get from the shopping centers that sell grapes. On this system I'm using growing media with rockwool and a bit of hydroton.
Planting lettuce for low-lying areas-medium a little bit tricky because we have to pay attention to the temperature of the area. Because if the air temperature is very hot can affect the development of lettuce.

In accordance with the varieties, I chose lettuce seeds kriebo because it is suitable with the area where I live.
- The Nutrients Needed
Lettuce with using hydroponic systems require nutrients from the AB Mix with the provisions PPM 600-800ppm.
But before transplanting, check the raw water in the water that will be used to dissolve the AB Mix Nutriens. Try to use ground water, water air conditioning water or rain that has ppm not more than 150ppm.
- Direct Sunlight
To keep lettuce can be grown better, note the direct rays of the sun obtained the seeds of lettuce. After transplanting to the growing media, try hydroponic system using the roof is clear so the lettuce stays biss receive sunlight without having to be exposed to excessive heat.
Lettuce can be harvested after 30-35 days after transplanting. The time required for seed sowing lettuce it takes 20-25 days, so can calculate total time in need sowing to harvest is 50-60 days.
Planting lettuce hydroponics is very easy if we want to utilize the free time. No need to bother for every day checking, enough 3-7 days checking periodically.
