Today I made my own 8 oz jar for about $7 - I guess. The Fair-Trade Cocoa butter was $23 for 16 oz - so that's the most expensive ingredient.
The carrier oil - which can be anything from cocoanut to olive to sesame - any organic oil you have in the house - costs as much as it costs - but I had it so I used it.
First of all, I got some shake (leaves with some thc crystals from a bag of marijuana) from a friend - aprox 4 oz. I decarboxylized it by grinding it up by rolling it with a rolling pin inside a plastic bag.
I put it on a cookie sheet at 250 degrees for an hour and then simmered it in a double boiler with 1 cup of Avocado oil for 3 hours.
Then, I strained it in a plastic funnel with a paper towel into a jar.
You do this to make the THC stronger and more ready to be absorbed.
I actually got 8 oz of oil out of this batch...you know when you see the instructions for this being done - they always use cool new jars - this is an old jelly jar and I almost got all of the label off of.
The V-Magic they are selling isn't canna-salve - it's just some proprietary blend of propolis and royal jelly - that's fine... but not for that price and plus - this is way better because the THC makes everything feel good.
Next, I grated 4 tablespoons of beeswax
and 8 tablespoons of cocoa butter and melted them in the double boiler adding in the oil once they were melted.
actually - I made some math errors, so unfortunately I had to repour it in and out of the jars more than once so the oil had to heat with the beeswax - but that's ok because it never gets very hot because it's on the lowest possible setting to continue simmering so the oil and wax never get very hot.
Added about 10 drops of my DMSO with Coiloidal Silver Mix to enable absorption and add the anti-microbial.
Then voila - poured it into a sterilized 8 oz jar I had kept from some "Better than Bouilion".
See how unperfectionistic I am - I didn't scrape all the label off this jar either and there's some salve floating in the jar that I scraped off my wooden spoon
Maybe one day, if I start selling this salve, or giving it as a gift, I will worry about putting it blue glass jars with labels, but for now it is simply my Canna Salve - so I don't have to pay Materialistic Capitalism Prices for something I need.
The lady I used to buy Canna Salve from went out of business...and Canna Salve is the same - about $50 a jar here in Colorado and online.
Your damn right! They charge way to much for cannabis products these days. You would think legalization would of helped lol.

yea right? I have thought of making salve out of the root - but it seems like the plant sucks every last nutrient out of the root - I will continue to look into this - I have seen one creator who uses it.
Yeah cannabis is an accumulator. They actually plant it in areas that where contaminated with radiation, and other toxins to aid in healing the soil.
That does not look as complicated as I thought it would be.

yes it is the nature of living under the thumb of the banksters - taking their cut forces us into a state of scarcity. Weed is a lot cheaper than it was when it was first legalized here in Colorado, but the products are outrageous.
Capitalism destroys all.
Mainly I would say it's the "interest" that creates the debt that creates the capitalism that destroys all -because we are using inherently dishonest currency - that in and of itself creates debt because it was designed to and no one will own up to that fact and stand up for Truth.
