Heyy hivers!
This is your friendly reminder to always take care of your physical and mental health!
Since pandemic, i can say that i have been eating relatively healthier compared to my pre-pandemic days. Before, i used to eat ice cream in 7/11 almost everyday after school and eat a whole lot of junk foods weekly. Adding stress to the equation, i can say that i wasn't at my optimum health. Hair fall and acne ware my constant problem during those times. I get easily tired too. My eating habits change during pandemic where most people got a health scare. We had a lot of family friends and relatives who died due to COVID 19 because during that time, hospitals were always full so patients cannot be attended to immediately.
I remember i was constantly searching in google about the symptoms, causes, and possible cure for COVID. What i discovered was that, since there was still no cure, not vaccine for COVID during that time, we can only strengthen our immune system so when we are infected by COVID, our bodies can fight for itself and produce anti bodies which will then strengthen us more.
Also, during that time, i began being interested with planting herbs (which i will create a separate post for) and its benefits. I gradually became health conscious. With YouTube being my most used app during that time, i made my own immune booster and natural antidote to COVID.
I made turmeric juice and fermented calamansi with honey.
Turmeric Juice
Ingredients:
. Turmeric plant
. Black pepper powder
. Cinnamon powder
. Drinking water
-Just mix all the ingredients in the blender and wait for all the solid particles to blend in the water.
Turmeric has a compound that can be used as a natural anti inflammatory. Whenever i get a tooth ache or head ache, i drink this potion and instantly, i feel better. But to be honest, i don't like the taste of this juice. Sometimes i add honey or brown sugar just to add sweetness in my juice. I also notice that my mood instantly feels better.
Calamansi With Honey
Ingredients:
. 20 pcs calamansi
. Sterilized mason jar
. Pure/raw honey
-Thoroughly wash the calamansi first before slicing it into half
-Place the sliced calamansi in the jar and add honey just until all the calamansi is covered.
-Refrigerate and enjoy!
This elixir is my vitamins since calamansi is high in vitamin C. I just add 1-2 spoonful of this extract to a glass of water and i now have an instant juice. This is similar to Korean honey citron tea that is available in Korean grocery stores.
These are only a few things i did during pandemic that i find very useful until now.
Because life is too precious and we should make the most out of it.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
-JaneXOXO

Aghhh, I don't like the taste of turmeric talaga, but it has a lot of benefits din, I feel like this will be good to me but I don't want to, haha. Should I try it or not?! Ah whatever, I'll just pretend I didn't see this! Charrr, lol. But calamansi and honey is not bad. Di ba sasakit lalamunan sa honey?
Apir po. I also dont like the taste of it. But nasanay nalang din. And yes, you should try it. Hahahaha. You cant unsee my post na po 🙈 Maybe you should try the calamansi with honey, mas masarap siya. Add it in a glass of water para hindi masyadong matamis.
Sadly wala akong mahanap na nagtitinda ng honey here, pero I'll try
Now your secret elixir is not secret anymore :D
There are times I also try to take care more about my health. Then there are periods when I am not persistent anymore... thanks for the reminder 😉
