The human body is like a vehicle, when you don't care for it, you begin to experience faults in it, that means you start spending more money on repairs when in the first place you would have spend less to repair it.
It's an interesting metaphor, I consider it a lot when I talk to my Yoga students. The same is true for any other aspect of self-care.
If we let the house (the mind) get too dirty, instead of cleaning it regularly, we will have a much harder time cleaning it after all the dirt accumulates. It is good to cultivate that habit of regular "maintenance".

Thank you so much for your beautiful response. Steady maintenance of one's self is very important, if you don't do it when the problem is not that much of a deal and choose to ignore, it might result to something worst in the end. We just have to cultivate the habit of caring for ourselves.
