Hello hive community, you might have heard that laughter is the best medicine. Today, I am going to share the reasons why doctors, psychologists and therapists say it. For every pain, disease or any physical or mental health problems we have to take certain medicine for its cure, but do you know that laughter is the only medicine which works for several health problems. Medicines usually have side effects, but laughter is the only medicine without any side effects. Below are health benefits of laughter.
1.Reduces stress
We have a hormone called cortisol. It is also called stress hormone. The more our body produces cortisol the more we are in stress. So, when we laugh the level of cortisol in our body drops down and as a result we are less likely to be in stress and prevents us from several health problems caused due to stress.
2.Heart
When we laugh our blood vessels widen and the blood flow increases in our body. Due to the enlargement of blood vessels, our heart's task becomes easier and blood circulation becomes faster and easier.
3.Immune system.
When we laugh, our body produces antibodies or antigens. For those who are not aware of antibodies let me just explain. Antibodies or antigens are substances in our body that fights against diseases. Let us take the example of corona virus. when the virus enters in our body, our body in order to fight against it produces antigens to save us from the virus. People who died of corona virus were those whose body's antigens were defeated against the virus and people who survived are those whose body's antigens won the battle. So the more we have antibodies in our body the more our body has ability to fight against diseases and let us remain healthy.
4.Pain killer
Yes, laughter also helps in reducing the pain. Generally when people feel more pain they take a pain killer. By laughing, we can produce a natural pain killer 'endorphin'. This substance works as pain killer and reduces pain.
5.Improve mood.
In today's world, we see a lot of problems, issues and difficulties in our lives. Due to all those, we might feel unhappy. But once you come in a laughter circle you forget all your problems and just enjoy the moment.
I discussed about the health benefits of laughter now I am going to share what sort of things a person should do to make him/her self laugh.
1.Surround yourself with humorous people.
2.Watch or listen to jokes.
3.Spend time with kids, they do things which make you laugh.
4.Share funny stories of your life with others. Also ask about people's funny stories of their lives.
