As winter approaches here in Australia I'm feeling an urge to hibernate. Yet spring gardens in other parts of the world are beckoning me back! This week we welcome back someone from my early days with the homesteading community and share some practical ideas for the homestead.
Things happening in the community.
This week's challenge from @naturalmedicine asks you to share your approach to healthy eating. I hope we'll be able to share lots of wisdom here and don't forget that there is Hive and LOTUS for the winners, so make sure you've followed the guidelines to qualify.
Over at @ecotrain they're asking how you feel in this moment for this week's question of the week.
Some highlights of the week
Wow, has it really been 3 years since we last heard from @soulturtle? At the time he was moving onto his land and he now gives us a quick overview of where he's at today.
There's something therapeutic and appealing about creating the things you need with your own hands and I can imagine this particularly goes for building. @holisticmom confirms this as she recalls the time she built with cob in Spain. A project that was good for the environment and the soul, by all accounts.
Plant labels are useful things, but sometimes you need them to last longer than a season. @canadianrenegade has come up with just the thing and shows us how to make more permanent plant tags from scrap.
Wrapping up this week we have @cesarj21's easy hummus from scratch recipe. Perfect if you're a hummus fan.
Each week one of our featured authors will be selected to be a 5% beneficiary of The Lotus Garden newsletter. This week @holisticmom will receive this award.

I prefer winter these days as the summer is unbearable hot.
Thanks for featuring us!
Aimee makes a pretty mean hummus but that hummus looks next level.
