Tofu is a well known food made from curdled soy milk formed into a block. There are various kinds such as soft white tofu, solid white tofu, fried tofu, and yellow tofu. Each kind of Tofu is processed differently but is made from curdled soy milk. You can get tofu at most supermarkets, and it is quite cheap, considering its benefits. Many people eat tofu when dieting because of its high protein and low calories.

Easy Dishes With Tofu

Tofu is one ingredient that I always buy when I go shopping because it is easy to eat without cooking and is very cheap. I have 2 tofu dishes to show you.

Tofu With Soy Sauce

If you don't have time, this is a great dish, no need to cook. Just put soy sauce on top and add some toppings such cut green onion, minced ginger, and sliced cucumber.

Fried Tofu

Just fry the Tofu in a frying pan with oil until done and eat with sweet chili sauce.

When I was in Thailand, my mom cooked tofu soup with Ivy Gourd leaves. I really love and miss it. I can't find Ive Gourd leaves in Japan. I remember that she harvested them near the fence of our house. How about you? What kind of dish can you cook with Tofu?

Fried Tofu looks really delicious😍. Never had the opportunity to taste tofu.
In India we have something similar called Paneer(a.k.a Cottage Cheese), only thing close to tofu.

If you don't say, I think it is Tofu. lol

haha! yes it looks exactly like tofu. We make a wide variety of dish with paneer.
Whenever your free, try out this recipe called "Palak Paneer ". You can make the same dish using tofu and call it "Palak Tofu.

Tofu is one of my all-time favorite dishes to eat and/or cook with vegetables. I also enjoy eating it fresh with soy sauce so I get it whenever I have the chance. :)

I like Tofu too.💕

Unfortunately, I ran out of tofu the other day and was not able to get from the grocery store when I went out to get supplies. :(

I'm sorry to hear that, I think you can buy one wherever you are.

No worries. I'm sure that I will be able to get some tomorrow. Thanks. :)

Great! Have a good meal.

Thanks! Have a nice day. :)

Japanese tofu is really smooth I think and soooo good. The price is expensive in here

It is cheap more than the other ingredients. I really good. You should try.

It's one of the foods I really try to avoid. I DO like it but the health concerns with it disturb me. Soy definitely splits people down the middle, a bit like religion. LOL. 😆

But a lovely looking post. 😊 Nice job.

I'm glad you like my post even if you try to avoid Tofu.😆

น่ากินมากๆ ชอบๆเต้าหู้ทอด

จิ้มกับน้ำจิ้มไก่ ก็พอได้นะ ทำง่ายแค่ทอด 😬

Thank you.

It's been a long time since I had tofu. My grandmother used to get it, but my family turn their noses up at it, so I've never made it myself. Perhaps I should experiment with some meals.

The Tofu that I bought, it doesn't have a smell. It is easy to eat like yogurt.

That tofu is a different kind from Indonesian tofu. That one is often priced higher and more softer than regular tofu at wet market. It tastes different too and often need more spices than just soy sauce. But yeah regardless, I love tofu!

I don't know why the price is high in Indonesia? The ingredients are cheap, I think.

Japanese tofu are imported :D so yeah that's why. Often they're mixing it with other ingredients like egg sauce/ shrimp sauce.

I've never seen Tofu mixes with shrimp sauce but if it mixes with egg, I like it.

Se ve muy rico

Gracias. ^^

Tofu in a frying pan with oil until done and eat with sweet chili sauce is the way i like it 😊

I like it too, not much to cook.

Yes easily done and eat 👍

haha, good job. ^^

😊 👍 😊

cool that you made a post about it earlier i found that tofu doesn't taste like anything but now if you have the right recipes it is really delicious :)

We always eat Tofu with soy sauce that is the easy way. ^^ No need to cook.

Tofu is so amazing!
But I am curious, you say its cheap?
What does it cost and how many grams do you normal get in a package?

Because I pay 3 usd for 200 grams of tofu in Denmarn xD

I bought 1 pack (90 g. x 3) about 70 cents. Tofu in Japan is cheap under 1 USD. Some brand has 3-4 pieces in the pack. Please see the picture no.2.

I wish it was cheaper here! :D
I would eat so much more of it!

I don't know Tofu is expensive in Europe. Please come to Japan. lol

It really is, yes.
I would love to come to Japan, its on my bucket list! :D

Welcome to Japan ^^

Thanks hehe :D

Do you make recipes with tofu yourself? I like it fried in slabs with cummin, tamari and chilli sauce, with fried tomatoes, on toast for breakfast!

I'm sorry I don't have the recipe to make Tofu. I bought it from the supermarket.

Hi I love tofu! I eat it almost every day haha. I like to eat it with noodles, veggies and some spices :)

There is a Japanese noodles dish that put Tofu on top.

I ate a lot of fermented tofu in Japan :)

I can not imagine the fermented Tofu.

Look delicious! ;)

Thank you ^^

You're welcome! ;)
