Now I will mix nature photography and natural medicine featuring a common mint plant called OREGANO. I found this plant in our garden that my wife use to treat common cough and cold for our children.
Oregano is from the mint family. Use to cook dishes and for treatment of many health conditions.
Health benefits of Oregano
- Rich in anti-oxidant properties
- Helps in fighting Bacteria
- Have Anti-cancer properties
- Helps reduce viral infections
- Decrease inflammation
- Can be added to diet.
- Anti-parasitic
- Treat cough and cold
- Wound Treatment
Oregano can easily grow in your garden and as much as you use it, the more it bloom and its leaves grow more. This plant were used by our ancestors in cooking as well. Oregano adds flavor to your cooking, just don't add too much cause your dish might get bitter. It's oil can also be extracted so it can be easily used.
When I was young my mother use oregano to add flavor to pork when she was making pork sausages. The sausages taste good because of the mint flavor added to it. It blends well with the sour taste of vinegar used to flavor the sausage.
Oregano is an amazing plant. We'll be able to discover more of its health benefits if we continuously using it in our daily living. I hope oregano will be a part of your garden too.
