This is a favorite fruit of my kids when they play bahay-bahayan at the back of our house where there's a huge aratiles tree. We call it mansanitas here. They used to boil and cook it into something like their 'rice' version without knowing its health benefits.
It's high time for us to find all the organic medicinal remedies and/or preventions to fight certain deficiency, instead of using the synthetic drug right away. For all we know, they're just around the corner!
