🍅Tomato & Tamarind Salad 🥗 An Ital Khmer Recipe

in Natural Medicine4 years ago (edited)

Happy International Women’s Day to all the women on the world 😍😘🤗. Today I made an easy salad but it’s delicious with something else you like to eat. Tomatoes and tamarind is my favorite salad and I have been eating it since I was a child.

Normally we eat this salad with grilled fish or smoked fish, because it’s delicious together. Now that I am an Italist, I make it with fried bean curd skin, and sometimes I eat it with tofu and tempeh also.

This dish is maybe not special to share with you all, but I just would like to share my country's food with everyone around the world from all different countries.

I don’t know if your country has the same food or not because I don’t know so many foods of the world. I just know and eat foods of maybe six or seven countries. I have a dream I can taste food around the world.

👩‍🍳 Tomatoes Tamarind Salad, Ital Recipe 🔪

វិធីធ្វើជ្រក់ប៉េងប៉ោះអំពិលទុំបួស

Ingredients

  • 5 tomatoes
  • tamarind to taste
  • basil, a little
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 5 red or green chilies
  • 1/2 tsp salt or taste
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

I slice vegetables all like that, basil cut or not as we like.

Put tamarind in the bowl and add salt, sugar, and soy sauce. Mix very well and keep it for 5 minutes. If not you can soak tamarind in the hot water before and use only the wate in salad. If we do it like this, we don’t need to keep it 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes add garlic, red onion, and mix it up. Now add tomatoes, basil, chilies, and stir very well. Taste it, it’s ready.

I am sorry about my English words are not good. Have a great day everybody.

I tried this today. I had just enough tamarind for this salad and the peanut and tamarind podi. It had a lot of seeds so I tried to get those out but kept a few of the soft ones. I added some slices of cucumber for a little crunch. Thanks for sharing. I’m enjoying it. Sorry, it might not look like it’s supposed to but I love the taste.😂😆

Oh that’s good but I think if you slice tomatoes thin like you slice cucumber, it will taste better. I just would like to give little bit suggestion but this dish looks like good and I’m glad you enjoyed and like it. Thank you dear 😊 Cheers 🥂. !wine

😃Thanks. I’ll do thinner slices next time. I had also chopped the onions. I’ll slice them instead. Really happy for the new recipes. I hadn’t had tamarind in years! Just got a little from a foreign food store. So happy to try something new. I usually just eat it as a fruit.

I want to try this, especially because I recently got some tamarind. Looks really good. 😋

Oh good to try it my friend, this recipe in my country they use fish sauce. I think, soy sauce and fish sauce are delicious the same. !ENGAGE 10

Will try it. I can find soy sauce easily so I’ll use that. Think I’ll use hot water on the tamarind. Is it mainly tomatoes? Do you sometimes add other stuff. I’m thinking I could add some cucumbers.😆 Would that change it up too much? I'm loving the ital recipes. 😃
