It's been a while that I haven't updated our garden. We've been a bit busy. Today, a friend visited our garden and asked what kind of fertilizer that we use for the plants. Actually, we compost dry leaves with other types of waste (like leftovers, paring or coffee grounds) to make organic fertilizer. We put them all in the bin, then cover it until everything rots completely. It's a good idea - no litter and rich source nutrients for trees. According to the research we learn, the organic fertilizer will decompose automatically, and it adds micronutrients to the soil when absorbed into the ground. In addition, it won't cause any harm to the soil environment. It makes leaves greener and thicker. ๐
We had a great harvest of some fruits in the garden and did clean the backyard to find spots for your new trees ๐: water lemon, okra, bitter gourd ..!!
There are many empty spots now after we cleaned all cherry tomato and pumpkin trees
We found that it's not too difficult to grow bitter gourd from seeds. These are already 2- week olds and growing fast. We make trellises and cages to support them. ๐ Some people don't like it as it's bitter like its name ๐ I suggest searching the benefits of Bitter Gourd and you will surprise :)
"Bitter pills may have blessed effects"
Have you heard of okra? Okra is a vegetable with a short growth period. It's easily adapted to hot and humid weather and can grow all year round. Okra's slime is very beneficial for health and skincare. Check it out why Okra, slime is gold! For Vietnamese, we are told that every plant has medicinal power and brings great health and well-being benefits for us !!
Watermelons ๐๐ are warm-season plants, so it's a really suitable time to have them in the garden ( It's summertime here). So excited ๐ but we do need to wait for a while ( roughly 3 months).
Honestly, we are not really professional gardeners ๐, we just plant whatever we want. Fortunately, they seem to grow well ๐๐๐๐. What else in the garden I'd like to update?
Strawberries? So sad..!! No more fruits harvested since two months ago ๐๐
Oh yea, lol we feel not enough bananas so we're breeding them a lot ๐
And we have lots of lemons and passion fruits now ๐ to make the most refreshing drinks for these hot days of summer ๐ฅโ๏ธ

You have a nice garden and it is very organized, I loved the pictures, everything looks very nice. I have heard of okra, but I don't remember if I have tried it or not (I think not), in short, it is a very nice plant and brings many benefits in our health, it is also very used in the kitchen. I would love to have one like that at home.
Thank you for this nice experience. Blessings!

Hey @pavanjr thank you for coming by and your kind words. I will update okra photo once they produce fruits. Yea it's very beneficial and healthy. Hope you will plan it in your garden ๐
Have a wonderful weekend :))
Wow you even have passionfruit! Good luck with your watermelons and bitter gourds. Maybe you should try "ever-bearing" strawberries.
Hey, Hope you are doing well !!
Thanks for visiting my garden and have a great weekend ahead :))
Wow what a great update of the garden. I compost too. I agree it is great for the plants and the environment. I grew watermelon once. The plant got really big and flowered and didn't produce fruit. So excited for you to get watermelon, yummy.
Thanks Sara, ๐Oh wow I don't know that you grew watermelon before. My first time tries with watermelon ๐ hope it will produce some fruits !!
Have a great weekend ahead Sara, โฅ๏ธ

hihi thank you em :)
Wow, I love your garden space! And it has a wonderful view, too!
I am in awe of how big the leaves on those trees are. We do not have such giant leaves here. ๐ฎ
You're the second person talking about bitter gourd and I never heard of it before today! I'm curious about it, it's not a plant we have around here.
I guess bitter gourd is easy to grow in tropical weather here. I will update you on the fruits next time. We can even dry it to make tea but bitter, maybe many ppl won't like its taste.
Thanks for dropping by and your nice words, much appreciated ๐
Have a fab weekend ahead :))
