Howdy ya’ll 😃. I had a baby 3 months ago and I’m currently breast-feeding. With breast feeding nutrition is so important. I decided to figure out a way to increase my milk supply because my baby is growing and Im trying to keep up with his appetite! I did some research on what foods increase milk production and was able to come up with a pretty cool recipe. This recipe can also be tweaked if you have a different scenario than myself- such as not breastfeeding. You can totally omit the brewers yeast and oatmeal and make them into KETO energy bites.
I came up with this idea of making my own recipe for lactation bites because in my quest on increasing milk supply, I purchased some cookies from Target and they were so expensive. They were like four dollars for three tiny cookies! So, I figured I can probably make them myself and it would be more cost efficient. Also, I like the idea of controlling what ingredients go into my food.
My inspiration were these cookies.
The recipes is as follows:
⭕️2 cups rolled oats
⭕️2 tablespoons brewers yeast
⭕️1/2 c ground flax seed
⭕️1 c peanut butter or almond butter
⭕️1 teaspoon vanilla
⭕️3 tablespoons coconut oil
⭕️1 tablespoon coconut flakes/ chocolate cookies chips , cinnamon powder- optional
⭕️1/2 c honey or maple syrup
First thing you have to gather all your ingredients.
Add 2 cups of rolled oatmeal.
Add the 1/2 cup flaxseeds, 3 tablespoons coconut oil, I added 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder in this version.
In a separate bowl combine the 1/2 cup almond butter with 1/2 cup maple syrup.
Add your coconut flakes or chocolate chips. I added both 😍😋!
Combine the two mixtures into one.
It should look like this when fully mixed:
Roll the mixture into a ball. You must freeze it for 10 minutes or so. This way, it will be easier to roll into smaller bite sizes.
Final outcome looks like this:
