El patacón o tostón es un plátano verde que se fríe y se aplana para luego ser freído nuevamente. Es una especie de tostada a la que se le pueden agregar múltiples rellenos.

The patacón or tostón is a green banana that is fried and flattened and then fried again. It is a kind of toast to which you can add multiple fillings.

  • Pelamos el plátano (quitar la cascara). 🍌

We peel the banana (remove the peel). 🍌

  • Picamos el plátano a la mitad. 🔪

We chop the banana in half. 🔪

  • Freímos las dos mitades por unos 4 minutos para que se ablanden y podamos aplastarlos. 👩‍🍳

We fry the two halves for about 4 minutes so that they soften and we can crush them. 👩‍🍳

  • Con ayuda de una prensa o una tabla para cocina aplastamos el plátano, deforma que nos quede como una tostada.

With the help of a press or a kitchen board, we crush the banana, making it look like toast.

  • Volvemos a freír el plátano por unos 2 o 3 minutos mas, para que quede crujiente. 🍳

We return to fry the banana for about 2 or 3 more minutes, so that it is crunchy. 🍳

  • Ya frito y crujiente el plátano procedemos a ponerle las salsas, en nuestro caso, utilizamos salsa de ajó y salsa rosada ( mezcla de mayonesa y ketchup). Ustedes pueden aplicarle las salsas de su preferencia.

Once the banana is fried and crunchy, we proceed to put the sauces, in our case, we use ajó sauce and pink sauce (a mixture of mayonnaise and ketchup). You can apply the sauces of your choice.

  • Agregamos la carne, que ya teníamos previamente cocida. Si quieren, pueden variar la receta y usar pollo o pescado y si son vegetarianos omiten la carne por completo! 🥩

We add the meat, which we had previously cooked. If they want, they can vary the recipe and use chicken or fish and if they are vegetarians they omit the meat completely! 🥩

  • Pondremos los vegetales, en nuestro caso solo usamos lechuga y aguacate. Si desean pueden agregarle los vegetales que mas les gusten, porque la receta lo permite. 🥑

We will put the vegetables, in our case we only use lettuce and avocado. If you wish, you can add the vegetables that you like the most, because the recipe allows it. 🥑

  • Y por ultimo, pero no menos importante, si no al contrario! Pondremos el queso, como la corona de este delicioso patacón! 🧀
    Podemos agregar mas salsa si lo deseamos.

And last but not least, if not the other way around! We will put the cheese, as the crown of this delicious patacón! 🧀
