Today I bring you the recipe for some delicious and crunchy onion rings that I loved, they are the perfect side dish for burgers or you can even eat them alone while watching a movie.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup wheat flour.
- 1/2 cup cornstarch (cornstarch).
- Salt (to taste).
- Pepper (to taste).
- Sugar (one teaspoon).
- 1 cup of cold beer.
- Bread crumbs or Panko.
- Two large or medium onions.
Comenzamos mezclando en un tazón los siguientes ingredientes:
- 1 taza de Harina de trigo.
- 1/2 taza de fécula de maíz (maizena).
- Sal (al gusto).
- Pimienta (al gusto).
- Azucar (una cucharadita).
- 1 taza de cerveza fría.
Hasta conseguir una mezcla espesa para rebozar nuestros aros de cebolla.
We begin by mixing the following ingredients in a bowl:
- 1 cup wheat flour.
- 1/2 cup corn starch (cornstarch).
- Salt (to taste).
- Pepper (to taste).
- Sugar (one teaspoon).
- 1 cup of cold beer.
Until we get a thick mixture to coat our onion rings.
Seguidamente pondremos el pan rallado o panko en un tazón y sazonaremos con sal y pimienta al gusto.
Next, put the bread crumbs or panko in a bowl and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Procedemos a cortar las cebollas de manera horizontal para sacar los aros.
We proceed to cut the onions horizontally to remove the rings.
We introduce the onion rings in our mixture of flour, cornstarch and beer and coat them well, they must be covered with this mixture on all sides.
Then, we pass the onion rings one by one to our seasoned breadcrumb mixture, they must be well coated with breadcrumbs so that they are crispy.
Procedemos a freír los aros de cebolla en una olla con aceite (a fuego medio).
Fry the onion rings in a pot with oil (medium heat).
After they are cooked on both sides, we can remove the onion rings from the oil and let them rest on a plate with a napkin to absorb the excess oil and READY! super crispy and delicious onion rings ready to taste (you can accompany them with the sauce of your preference).
Consejo: Para que salgan más grandes los aros traten de usar cebollas grandes y hacer cortes gruesos.
Tip: For larger rings try to use large onions and make thick cuts.
