How To Make Mom's Famous Baked Salmon with Mayo

My mom, used to make this salmon recipe. It’s so simple, but in my opinion, it feels like a fancy meal.

We don’t live near an ocean and we don’t have access to an abundance of fresh fish, so I like to buy frozen salmon filets. They can easily be cooked from frozen, and for us it’s a real treat.

This is one my “I don’t have anything planned for dinner” recipes. It’s our fast food.

To make this recipe you simply smear a baking dish with homemade mayonnaise, then add onions, the salmon, salt, pepper and lemon juice. Store bought mayo will work too, but the ingredients in that stuff can be scary, and making it from scratch only takes about 2 minutes. Click here for the Homemade Mayo Recipe.

Mom’s Famous Baked Salmon with Mayo

  • Homemade Mayo
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 tbsps Lemon Juice
  • 2 Salmon Filets (fresh or frozen)
  1. Preheat the oven to 400F.

  2. Once you’ve prepared the homemade mayo, smear it on the bottom of a glass 9X13 baking dish.

  3. Arrange about 2/3 of the onion slices on top the layer of mayo.

  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  5. Lay the salmon filets on top of the mayo and onions, skin-side-down.

  6. Put the remaining onion slices on top the salmon.

  7. Sprinkle with more salt and pepper, and drizzle with lemon juice.

  8. Bake at 400F for 15-20 minutes.

Serve the salmon with a side of something fresh from the garden!

Hello @alexanderfarm ! good recipe, delicious, and yes, when we live far from the sea, frozen fish is a good alternative. I have a suggestion: Try to upload your videos through 3Speak, they have more diffusion within Hive. Greetings.

@sirenahippie Hi! Thank you! Yes it's been on my to do list to start uploading my videos to 3Speak. There is so much to learn and I'd like to get more familiar with Hive and crypto. I told myself that if I just jump in and start participating then I will eventually pick it up. I started with the blogging, but video will be next. 😊

Excellent, I know you will do a good job, your posts are very good and your videos too. Greetings.

This sounds amazing and, more importantly, amazingly easy. I am sure it's delicious with other types of fish too.

Thanks for reminding me of that mayonaise recipe too. I should give that one another try after my first attempt was somewhat disappointing.

Sending you a hug from Portugal!

Thank you! Hug is received, and another sent back!

Boy this sounds good! And so quick!
