Have you ever heard of a snack called “Cireng”? It is a type of traditional snack from Indonesia which is golden white. “Cireng” is made from tapioca flour.
Cireng is served fried and eaten with a spicy sauce called “sambal rujak”. The texture is chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside when it's still warm.
My mother and I love this snack because of its chewy and crispy texture, even though “Cireng” is not native to my area. “Cireng” is a typical snack from the Sunda region, West Java.
FROZEN CIRENG
Currently in Indonesia, frozen food is popular. Generally a snack. Including "Cireng". Frozen “Cireng” is the right choice to make supplies for those who like “Cireng”. So my mother asked me to buy Frozen Cireng.
I bought “Cireng” from my friend, @arlaarifin. I often buy snacks from her. Because I believe in the good quality that she offered.
I paid $2 for frozen “Cireng” containing 20 pcs / 400 grams.
HOW TO COOK
How to serve frozen "Cireng" is very easy. We just need to fry the pieces of cireng into hot oil, over low heat.
Fry until "Cireng" is golden. Then lift and drain.
Pretty easy, right? Cireng is ready to be served. As much as possible serve while warm so that the texture remains crispy and chewy!
SERVE!
Inside the frozen "Cireng" package, the sauce "Sambal Rujak" is also available.
So, serve "Cireng" which has been fried with the sauce. Chewy, crispy, savory, spicy, and a little sweet from the taste of the sauce.
THE NEXT LEVEL OF PLATING
For serving into the next level, I serve “Cireng” with pandan leaves. Pandan leaves help wrap the "Cireng" so that when it is held it is not greasy for consumers.
I also add pandan sauce on the serving plate to enhance the overall color of the snacks.
For the sauce, I use tomatoes to serve the sauce.
I hope you guys like my food blog this time. Do you have the same snacks as this traditional Indonesian snack, made from tapioca flour?
Have a great day and see you in my next post!

Love your photos, as usual @anggreklestari. The only thing I don't like about your posts is that I can never taste anything! Those look delicious. I love eating the unique flavours and dishes from other countries
I see this being very crispy like chicken.
You Know, eating good food doesn't mean that one should fill a whole bowl with a special kind of grain, legume or flesh but a combination of them. This is the balance a diet should be. Waw. The colours are really appealing and attractive.
Guess what, you just gave me an experiment to try for myself.
You have to try for sure :)
Okay.
Soon I'll be posting mine
