Making cakes to share with the family and for them to taste is something that I really like, I am not a professional pastry chef but it is a talent that my grandmother taught me and I am inheriting from her 😁 Although I know that in the family the one who makes the most delicious sweets is my grandmother, it is a pity that they cannot try them, because they would melt from how delicious they are, my grandmother has prepared many sweets since a very young age and since I was little I have always accompanied her to make them, I always watched her make delicious cookies and cakes and I said how is it that she makes something that has such a delicious aroma and looks so special because my grandmother's hands have always been blessed and in a big way, that is why today I say that thanks to the fact that she taught me to make sweets I can make them myself now and make my family taste them when they have a craving.
Although I don't know how to prepare sweets as well as she does, I have tried to do it at my own pace and learning rate because nothing is learned instantly but over time and with practice, that is why today I wanted to make this little cake decorated in these two colors, white and pink, and I tell you that the truth is that when I was preparing the meringue, the essence made it melt a little and the day was very cloudy, it was not an impediment to doing it, I want to share with you the process of how I made it without butter since the butter saturates the cake and I like to prepare it this way because it is much softer. So let's cook!!
Ingredientes(1/2 kilo):

The first step is to wash our hands very well, and we're going to be grabbing our bowl and we're going to be separating the whites from the yolks of our eggs, of course there are three, so I get the whites from the three, we're going to add the yolks in a separate cup because we will use these later, well, then we start to beat, I do it with the whisk because I don't have the mixer but if you have your mixer it is welcome, we're going to beat the egg whites until stiff for three minutes, we'll know it's in place when we lift the whisk or mixer and we'll be able to observe how our mixture does not fall and remains in the shape of a peak, then we'll add our cup of sugar and beat for 5 minutes until we obtain a homogeneous mixture and the sugar has melted.

Remember that I mentioned that we should separate the egg whites from the yolks, because after beating the egg whites with the sugar, it was time to add the yolks, beat and add the cup of oil, stir little by little and add the teaspoon of salt and stir again.

We move on to add our vanilla essence and stir slowly without making sudden movements because we must try to ensure that our mixture does not become heavy, which is why it is important not to stir too much. We will add the flour little by little, sifting it, and add the milk. We add both ingredients little by little and stir like this. We repeat the step until we finish all the flour. At the end, the mixture should be homogeneous and smooth.

We proceed to grease and flour our tray where we will pour the mixture, and we bake at 180° for 30 minutes... After that time we can insert a toothpick to see if it is ready. If the toothpick does not come out greased with the mixture, it is ready to remove our cake from the heat.

To make the meringue we are going to do almost the same step that we did when we started making the cake, we separate the egg whites from the yolks and we add these egg whites to a bowl where we will make our cream.

Meanwhile, I'm going to put the water in a pot with my sugar and cook the water and sugar for 10 minutes over low heat to make a bain-marie.

We are going to be beating while the sugar is still cooking, we beat the egg whites until they reach the snow point, when the sugar becomes thick and with a bright color it is time to add it to our egg whites in the form of a thin thread and we beat without stopping and we add the vanilla, then we beat this until we obtain the mixture we will know that it is ready when we lift the mixer and the meringue does not fall, I separated the white meringue to make the pink with the strawberry essence that has a red color, then I began to decorate the cake as I wanted but as I mentioned before the strawberry essence made the meringue melt from the pink color until struggling I was able to decorate it not so well but I tried not to get it so bad after adding it there to the cake.
