Hello baking lovers, I wish you a happy afternoon. I wanted to share with you a recipe that I really like but that I didn't know how to make. My grandmother is one of the people who loves to prepare sweets of all kinds and of course try them. Who doesn't like a sweet snack as a snack? I love eating sweets a lot, but there is one in particular that I like and that we all like here when my grandmother prepares them.

This dessert is very delicious and tasty here in Venezuela we know it as golfeados or stuffed rolls, there are also cinnamon-filled rolls that are very popular and common in other countries, but today we will be making this sweet with the help of my grandmother, I forgot to capture a photo of the process of how we prepare the dough but here I leave you the ingredients since making it is very easy, the important thing here is that it is soft and rises with the help of a little yeast.

They are very simple to make and if you have never tried to do it here I leave you the process, and just as I did not know how to make them with a little help I have made them, I hope you like how they turn out so let's go with the ingredients that we will use.

Ingredients for 35 rolls:

  • 1 hard panela of sugar cane
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 kg of sugar
  • salt a teaspoon
  • Grated cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of yeast
  • A little water to activate the yeast
  • 1 kg of wheat flour without leavening agent
  • 300 ml of water

Procedure:

Step 01

As I mentioned, my grandmother prepared the dough but I helped her add some ingredients. I mentioned that unfortunately I don't have photos of how we made the dough but here I will tell you how my grandmother made it. She started by first activating the yeast with a little bit of water for a few minutes, then adding the flour to a bowl and making a small hole in the center forming a kind of volcano.

Then she added the yeast, which she activated with a little bit of warm water, remember that friends, then she added the eggs, water, salt and sugar little by little and kneaded well until our dough came away from our hands a little and was very soft, then we let it rest for 1 hour in a cool environment and covered with plastic.

Step 02

Once the dough is ready after resting for an hour, we will stretch it out with a rolling pin on a previously floured table. There we will use our grater and grate our sugar cane panela, although it is somewhat brown because the cane juice is cooked and when it is thick it tends to dry out, become hard and have this brown color. This panela is a main ingredient for making these rolls and its flavor is delicious.

After grating the panela, we will add the grated cheese to our rolled out dough. If the cheese gives it a super delicious flavor, the panela also creates a combination of flavors that we really like here.

Step 03

After doing this we move on to rolling our dough, we start from one side of the ends and roll it lengthwise little by little until we have the dough in the shape of a cylinder.

Step 04

We proceed to do the next step, which I like a lot but it scares me a little because we have to cut our rolls of almost 2 cm wide with a knife. I forgot to mention that we made two cylinders and we got 35 rolls since we cut them small because remember that we prepare the dough with yeast and this doubles its size.

Step 05

When we cut our golfeados we will be placing them on a previously buttered and floured tray so that our rolls do not stick, then we place them and let them rest for 30 minutes to double their size then we bake them at 180 ° for 20 minutes.

Result:

When our rolls are ready, we remove them from our tray and place them in a cup and wait for them to cool.

These are the delicious rolls that I prepared with my grandmother when I went to visit her. I hope you like them as much as I do. If you liked this recipe, don't forget to share it with your friends and family. I wish you a beautiful day.🍽️
