Whenever I’m craving a savory snack French fries usually come to mind! But sometimes I like to switch it up and use sweet potatoes, or in this case African yams, for a healthier alternative.
African yams are less starchier and sweet but not as sweet as sweet potatoes. The flavor is definitely milder and cook quicker too! I grow these year-round in my garden and I feel they are pretty pest tolerant more so than potatoes!
Want to make some rosemary and darling air fried yams? Ok here goes!
Ingredients
1 yam peeled and sliced like French fries
2 garlic cloves diced finely
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried crushed rosemary
1 pinch dried parsley
2 tbsp oil of choice (I use expeller pressed organic safflower oil)
Directions
- Place all your ingredients in a gallon ziplock bag and shake thoroughly.
- Place your ingredients in your air fryer basket and air fry at 400 degrees for 25 minutes flipping once in between.
- Serve and enjoy!
I like to eat mine as is as they are flavorful on their own but also go well with a lemon aioli or even ketchup!
