Hello everyone!
As a pumpkin lover, I like all foods made from pumpkin. In my opinion, pumpkin is a vegetable/fruit that is very endowed with many vitamins and countless benefits.
I don't know that pumpkin deserves to be called a fruit or a vegetable, but it seems appropriate to say it's a vegetable because this little orange one has to be boiled first to be eaten. Who can eat pumpkin without boiling it? Surely it will be very hard and plain taste.
This morning I bought a pumpkin from a trader who sells a variety of vegetables, in his shop he is quite complete with everything about vegetables and fruits. I saw a display full of pumpkins, it's unusual for me to see so many pumpkins in the shop. He said that there was a lot of stock from farmers who were beside our village. He sells pumpkin for 4000 IDR per kilo. Oh my God, this is a good deal I thought.
Immediately I bought 1 pumpkin weighing 900 gr, almost 1 kilogram but the seller gave it to me at a price of 3000 IDR, when else can I get it at that price? And I went home with a happy heart, so on this trip my brain thought I wanted to turn it into a delicious snack, while my husband was also on vacation and this snack would accompany him while watching his favorite Netflix.
Pumpkins can be made into anything, they can be processed and made into desserts, snacks, side dishes, and even boiled and eaten just like that. You know, what makes me love pumpkin is that this vegetable doesn't have to be processed with many components to make something so sweet and delicious!
By the way, Pumpkin also has seeds which I think can be processed if we are good at washing and drying them really well. I think pumpkin seeds taste almost the same as sunflower seeds, but are a little more mushy than sunflower seeds if you don't maintain the quality (put them in an airtight jar).
But for the next time I want to share tips on processing pumpkin seeds, this time I want to share an easy snack recipe from pumpkin. Curious about the recipe? Let's look at the following pumpkin Cucur recipe, check this out!
Cucur Pumpkin Ingredients:
- 250 gr Pumpkin
- 1 egg
- 100 gr wheat flour
- 80 gr sugar
- 150 ml of liquid milk
- Baking powder
- Pinch of Salt
- Roasted sesame
- The oil for frying
How to Cook Pumpkin Cucur:
- Peel and cut the pumpkin, then boil until soft.
- Puree the pumpkin using a fork, then add the flour and sugar, stirring until evenly distributed.
- Add milk and 1 egg, and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. Stir until well blended. You can also add roasted sesame seeds to the dough.
- Heat a little oil, then pour a tablespoon of the mixture on the surface of the pan, turn it over when it's fully cooked and drain.
- Cucur pumpkin is ready to be served!
It is called 'cucur' because this cake is poured like 'cucur' with Javanese meaning 'pour'. Cucur is best eaten while still warm and accompanied by a glass of tea in the afternoon. I gave it to my husband because he said he was going to watch a documentary he had been waiting for a long time, have a nice weekend!
That's the Cucur Pumpkin recipe this time. Can be used as an easy and nutritious cheap snack at home! Want more recipes? Comment below frends..
