Hi everybody!
Again and again, my neighbors come and give me 1/2 kilogram of egg whites are very fresh. I don't know why my neighbors are so nice, sometimes it becomes a burden for me to never give anything to them. Sometimes my neighbors come with garden produce, food and fruit, even egg whites. But I am always grateful for being given good and sincere neighbors.
Speaking of egg whites, I'm running out of ideas for trying egg whites other than for stir fry like the one I wrote about in the nest. This time, my brain is really spinning with the idea of 'what are you going to do with this egg white!!'.
However, all my neighbors became a challenge in itself and made me more challenged for many things. This makes me not discouraged, and also more creative ideas must come out of my brain right?
I surf on my social media, look at several celebgrams and foodies content creators to get references and ideas that I will write on this blog. I found a recipe that I'm going to cook and add this dish to perfection.
This time I made a sponge cake that expands like a cloud. I had a lot of sesame that was almost exhaled so I decided for all the ingredients. Incidentally, when I was shopping at the market, I found pandan leaves that were sold fresh. As a consideration minimize the use of food coloring. So curious about the recipe? Let's look at the following recipe. Look at this!
Sesame Sponge Cake Ingredients:
- 500 gr egg white
- 250 gr all-purpose flour
- Sugar 250 gr
- SP 1 tablespoon
- Corn flour 50 gr
- 2 bunches of pandan leaves
- Sesame
- Butter 200 gr
- Vanilla powder to taste
How to cook Sesame Sponge Cake:
- Melt the butter without any addition, then set the room temperature.
- Puree pandan leaves with 50 ml of water. Squeeze the pandan leaf water and set aside.
- Mix egg whites on high speed, slowly add sugar and SP. Mix until egg whites are stiff.
- After the egg whites are stiff, turn off the mixer and slowly add the all-purpose flour, cornstarch and vanilla powder.
-Slowly add butter and pandan leaves. Stir gently with a spatula, stirring in 1 round and slowly so that the cake dough does not break. Sometimes stirring too vigorously will prevent the cake from rising.
- Sprinkle sesame on the cake batter. Then sprinkle on the baking sheet. Don't forget to spread butter on the baking sheet so it doesn't stick when it's cooked from the oven.
- Heat with oven 150 degree during 30 minutes. Sesame Sponge Cake is ready to serve!
How easy is it to make sesame sponge cake this time? Because the egg white is a gift from my neighbor, so in making sponge cake this time I really spent a lot of money. Just buy a few ingredients and use what you have! This time I will share the sesame sponge cake with neighbors around my house. He said this sesame sponge cake is worth selling! However, I don't think I'm going to sell it, I'm too busy to enjoy the food I cook. But it's possible to sell it, right?
